Simple and Effective Ideas to Make Your Pregnancy Easier on Your Wardrobe

These simple but effective tips can help you extend your wardrobe into your early months of pregnancy.

Use rubber bands the first couple of months to secure your jeans when you're not big enough for your maternity clothes. You can hook the rubber band through the eye of the jeans, then secure it around the button. This works better than using safety pins to secure your jeans.

Purchase a couple long comfortable skirts with expandable waistbands.

Purchase a regular pair of stretch jeans one size bigger than you normally wear. These will get you well into your second trimester when your belly is still too small for maternity clothes. An additional benefit is after you have delivered and you just want to get back into some normal clothes---these jeans will give generously as your body gets back into shape.

Buy a couple maternity mix and match items. This way you can create different outfit combinations. Consider a pair of pants, skirt, and a couple of blouses that each will complement the other.

Maternity clothes can be pricey. To help offset this cost, there are some great quality online shops that offer discount prices. Then there is EBay, where you can view and bid on some slightly used maternity clothes, many of which are designer names. In addition, you can shop consignment shops. Then there are your friends and family members who may lend or give you their old maternity clothes.
